1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all reservations, bookings, overnight stays, services and offers of the Hotel Sternen Gurtnellen.
By booking, guests accept these terms and conditions.
2. Contract conclusion / booking
A contract is concluded as soon as the hotel sends a booking confirmation by email, in writing or verbally.
The hotel reserves the right to refuse bookings without giving reasons.
3. Prices & Payment Terms
All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) and include statutory duties and taxes, unless otherwise stated.
The hotel may require a deposit or full prepayment.
Outstanding amounts must be settled no later than at check-out (cash, debit/credit card, if accepted).
4. Arrival and departure (check-in / check-out)
- Check in: from 3:00 PM
- Check out: until 11:00 am
Earlier arrivals or later departures are only possible by prior arrangement and may incur additional costs.
5. Cancellation Policy
Unless otherwise communicated at the time of booking, the following rules apply:
- Free cancellation: up to 48 hours before arrival
- Cancellations less than 48 hours before arrival: 100 % of the booked stay
- No-show: 100 % of the total amount
Group bookings, special rates or events may have different cancellation policies.
6. Guest's Liability
The guest is liable for all damages caused by him, his fellow travelers or his visitors.
Damage to hotel inventory will be fully billed.
7. Hotel Liability
The hotel is only liable for damages caused by intentional or grossly negligent conduct.
No liability is assumed for valuables unless they have been expressly handed over for safekeeping.
8. Use of the hotel rooms
The rooms may only be used by registered persons.
Bringing your own cooking, heating or other equipment is prohibited.
Smoking is in strictly forbidden in all rooms; Violations will result in a cleaning fee of at least CHF 150.–.
In case of significant damage or removal of hotel room items such as hairdryers or toiletries, the costs will be charged to the guest's credit card.
9. Guest liability / Damage to hotel inventory
The guest is liable for all damages caused during his stay by him, his fellow travelers or visitors.
At significant damage or the unlawful removal of hotel room items (e.g., hairdryer, towels, toiletries, furnishings) will be provided to the guest. Repair or replacement costs billed.
The hotel is entitled to these costs to directly charge the stored credit card..
10. Force Majeure
In the event of circumstances beyond the hotel's control (e.g. natural disasters, pandemic-related restrictions, official measures), the hotel may withdraw from the contract without the guest being entitled to any compensation.
11. Pets
Pets are only allowed by prior arrangement.
Additional costs or cleaning fees may apply.
12. Data protection
Personal data is processed exclusively within the framework of legal requirements.
The full privacy policy can be viewed on the hotel's website or requested.
13. Jurisdiction & Applicable Law
Swiss law applies.
The place of jurisdiction is 6460 Altdorf, insofar as legally permissible.
14. Final Provisions
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions, and such changes will be communicated on the website or at check-in. Should any individual provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
